You know you’ve found the perfect winter hat when you plan the rest of your child’s winter wardrobe around it. We love Short Hat Company’s Scout hat. It comes in red or black, and really you can’t go wrong either way. We think it’s very “Apple Martin meets Kingston Rossdale”…classy with an edge. Our tot has been keeping heaps warm with this super stylish chapeau throughout the holiday season. Love the quilted fabric and the snugly warm sherpa lining. It’s really difficult to find winter hats for kids that are hip, comfortable and warm, but Colorado’s Short Hat Company has done it with their Scout design. The Frog Pod has a new sister in town and she’s called the Bug Pod. We love it and think it’s a fab addition to your bathtub. It’s this really cool wall mounted toy storage unit from Boon. It’s whimsical and fun. It appealed to our rather snooty stylish side and our tots playful side. Love that this functional lady bug has space for storing shampoo and that it’s designed to drain all that extra water that causes slimy mold…can’t count how many bath toys we’ve tossed due to mold. We’ve even convinced our willful toddler that clean up time is fun and easy. Mommy gets an organized and hip looking washroom and your kids get one of the most sought after products out there. We hear that super stylish Jessica Alba is a Boon fan too. Dress up your bathroom like us at www.booninc.com
This year when my New Year’s Day guests sit down to a special lunch at our house they’ll be gushing more about our fabulous new table linen than the yummy food well have spread out. We’ve been looking all over for new napkins that look stylish and do their job. So pleased we heard about Flowie, a textile and design company that hand screens and sews their gorgeous creations in San Francisco. Love the beautiful bloom patterns they use (the Bouquet set is based on the designer’s own wedding bouquet…how romantic!). They also make fantastic gift bags that work as sweet little totes too. You can skip the silly gift wrap and be environmentally smart and chic at the same time. We’ve also heard that their Dumpling Bag has been a popular choice for mommies to use as a diaper tote. It’s got just enough room for an outing with baby and a little extra space for your Vogue and lip gloss. Have a look at the aprons and tea towels too if you like to spend time in the kitchen and need some stylish inspiration. Take a peek at Flowie’s soft and modern line at www.flowiestyle.com
What’s the most important accessory in your baby’s wardrobe? A bib of course. It says a lot about mommy’s and baby’s style. It’s also something baby wears everyday, and not just one, but two or three. You need different ones for different activities. Bibs for wearing around the house…bibs for dining at mommy’s favorite bistro, and bibs for special occasions too. We were searching for our little tot and came across Sloppy Baby, a brilliant company based in Colorado that makes really modern and eye catching bibs. We went with the Nash Gift Set once we had a look at their gorgeous blankets, as both are included. It’s this really fresh blue and green camouflage design that’s perfect for the little man of the house. It’s so difficult to find patterns that are original and fun for boys, don’t you think? Check out www.sloppybaby.com for some hip baby gear also owned by Tori Spelling and Trista Sutter.
Yes we did it…we stole from the baby. When something smells and feels this good, mommy needs some too. maybe “steal” is too strong of a word….perhaps “borrow” is better. Every time we slather on baby Pudding cream from Baby Breaux we like to scoop a little out for ourselves and rub it on our dry hands, feet and elbows. Hands get so dry this time of year and with all that extra hand washing after changing diapers and spit ups you really need a strong enough cream that will chase that dry skin away. It makes our little bambino smell super delicious and his skin is, well…as soft as a baby. Love that it’s free of nasty chemicals and parabens. Baby Breaux uses natural essential oils and ingredients like Aloe Butter to get the perfect combo of safe and effective. Have a look at their absolutely celeb worthy line at www.babybreaux.com

We know you’re busy and we know you’re tired, but honestly momma, there is no excuse for wearing that old college tee and ripped up pair of jogging pants. Whether you’re running around the block, on your way to a new Hot Yoga class or just chasing the kids in the backyard, you want to look and feel your best. It’s true if you dress the part that the rest will follow. For days of exercise, lounging and brunching you’ll find us dressed in Beyond Yoga, a fabulous yoga inspired clothing line. It’s simply put, our new addiction. We can honestly say that their Original Pant feels as smooth as butter and makes our bottom look fabulous. The fabric wicks away moisture and the waistband is super supportive, so it’s perfect for mommies-to-be too. We have our pants in Midnight Blue, but the Graphite Gray would be brilliant for taking you from class to a coffee date with the girls as well. We busy mommas love clothes that can do double duty and look fresh and stylish at the same time. Who else balances, bends and twists while wearing Beyond’s creations? Celeb mommies Reece Witherspoon, Julia Roberts and Naomi Watts. Have a look at their brilliant collection at www.iambeyond.com and join our addiction.
We’re honored to have been given the chance to interview the owner and creator of I Am Beyond, Jodi Guber. Her company includes the sought after Beyond Yoga clothing and a gorgeous and spiritual jewelry line called Beyond Malas. Her celebrity following is as dazzling as her designs.
Celeb Baby: We all need basics for our wardrobe (little black dress, white shirt, perfect black tee). What would you say are the basics for a stylish yoga wardrobe?
Jodi: The perfect pant, which is of course the Beyond Yoga Original Pant, a supportive cami that is long enough to cover your midriff and depending upon the weather/climate a shirt to cover up and a cozy jacket. All pieces that we sell help you transition effortlessly from the mat into your busy day – never sacrificing style or comfort.
Celeb Baby: What or who inspired you to switch gears in your life from being a successful publicist to designing yoga wear?
Jodi: It wasn’t a switch as much as it has been a process. I have had many lives – I am a non-traditional renaissance woman of sorts – all of the careers I have had come together perfectly in Beyond Yoga. All of the relationships I have created along the way are in perfect synergy with Beyond Yoga.
Celeb Baby: Tell us more about your jewelry line, Beyond Malas?
Jodi: It began as a traditional take on mala (prayer) beads and slowly evolved into a full jewelry line. The beads are endorsed by Deepak Chopra, the concept being that you surround yourself with what you want to attract into your life – therefore all of the charms and beads have meanings.
Celeb Baby: You have a very impressive list of celebrity clients. Is there a celebrity mom in particular you’d love to see sporting your brilliant yoga inspired clothing?
Jodi: Well Reese Witherspoon is a huge supporter of Beyond Yoga and she embodies so many qualities that make her an inspiring woman – a career woman, a mother, and a yogi. The other two I would like to see in my line are Jennifer Garner and Angelina Jolie.
Celeb Baby: What’s next for Beyond Yoga? Any plans to start a maternity yoga line in the future?
Jodi: We have thought about it – a lot our pieces really expand with a growing belly but it may come up in the future. A men’s collection and kids is next on the radar!
Designed in the Netherlands and finally available to North Americans, Cheekeyes are one of the most sought after gifts this year…and we’re tickled pink to have them under our tree. The Cheekeyes are handmade wooden animals that come in five educational and imaginative themes: Polar, Farm, Africa, Dino and Forrest. We went for the Polar set and also got the iceberg too as it is winter. Love the soothing shades of gray and the smooth safe edges. Very hip and very Euro indeed. We think this will keep our curious tot busy playing and learning for quite some time. It’s about time we mommies started saying no to loud plastic toys and go back to what’s simple and works. Cheekeyes does all that with a simple modern twist. We love the look and feel of it so much that we’ll be keeping this toy out on the coffee table well after bed time. Have a look at all five sets at www.oompa.com
OK…take a breath and sit down, because we have another amazing contest for you! Belle Baby Carrier is giving away one of their gorgeous creations to one very lucky (and stylish) Celebrity Baby Clothes reader. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us where Belle Baby Carriers are located and made (go ahead and cheat and look for the answer on their site www.bellebabycarriers.com ). Simple as that momma. Perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to win and be a little bit more like Angie and Nicole who both proudly own a Belle Baby. If you fail to win, don’t despair mommy as Posh Tots sells these fab carriers on their online store.
It’s that time of year when we make pledges and resolutions. This year we want you to promise to dress your children and babies with style and comfort in mind. Toss the silly tees with ridiculous slogans (If we see one more “princess” tee with pink glitter we will have our own royal fit). Go back to what really works. Classic lines, movable fabrics and stylish touches. We’re talking cable knit sweaters, lambswool hoodies and gorgeous berets made in neutral yet modern shades. We found all that and more at Poppy & Ned. Our favorite is their wool jumpsuit for infants. We have it in a stunning shade of aqua blue and it’s keeping our wee one warm and dapper on these chilly winter days. Who wants to wrestle with a snowsuit for quick car rides? Go with the jumpsuit…much more practical. Our other must have this Holiday season? Their swanky little lambswool cardigan in cocoa for girls paired with a whimsical beret… add some dark denim jeans and you’ll be ready for the markets of Paris. We hear that celeb mommy Cate Blanchett loves their blankets and Kitson Kids down on Robertson Blvd now carries their stunning line.
