Our tots are dressed better for bed than mommy and daddy…us parents are lucky to find an old collage tee and flannels clean and ready to slip into. The toddlers of the house on the other hand are much more stylish, comfy and put together for bedtime. They’re been sporting the latest creations from ErgoPouch, a fabulous Australian company that is well known for their brilliant baby sleeping bags. We tested out their line of super soft jammies. Made with natural fibers and bamboo, this sleepwear is miles ahead of the pack. It keeps your wee one cool in the warmer months and safely warm enough in the chilly winter months. They have three eco friendly and unisex styles (when you have a boy and a girl, the word UNISEX means money saved) to offer. Love th fresh designs and the word “bedibye” written down the leg. Best part? The kids sleep better now that they are just warm enough…mommy sleeps better too, which makes for a happy and now more stylish house. If only they made these PJ’s for us parents.
PS: Ergo Pouch is Aussie but has stocklists all over the world. So you mommies in London, Seattle, Halifax, and Hong Kong can stop fretting and start shopping!
Faithful Celeb Baby Clothes readers know that we love our Aden & Anais dearly…no one makes a better baby blanket. Soft, breathable, and the perfect size to wrap up and swaddle your baby, Aden & Anais has made our hectic mommy life easier. The mailman just dropped off Aden’s new Organic Single Wrap and we are more than a little excited. With it’s bright colorful dragonflies and it’s soft signature muslin fabric, this blanket is getting tons of use and love in our house. Our littlest tot will only fall asleep if he has a muslin blankie to snuggle and hold. True story….nap time just won’t happen if he’s missing his Aden & Anais. Although it makes a great blanket, this wrap can be used for all sorts of things like a last minute nursing cover (so breathable and it’s big enough to coverer you both up) and it also works so well as a shade on your stroller while you go for walks on sun filled days. Very versatile and functional…but looks do count (shallow, but true), and Aden makes some very stylish and hip blankets (must get the Pink Stars next). Fabulous and famous mommies like Tory Spelling and Isla Fisher share our obsession with Aden & Anais and have been known to wrap their celeb babies up in that famous muslin. Smart mommies think alike.
We know what you’re thinking…..and yes we are writing about bibs again…they are our obsession. Funkie Baby has been getting our attention lately and we’ve been putting their much talked about bibs to the test. We heard how fabulous they are and we are pleased to report it’s all true. What sets these stylish bibs apart from the others is the very clever triple layering. The front and back are cotton and the middle layer is a hidden soak proof liner. Baby’s clothes stay even cleaner and the bibs are reversible….how brilliant is that? We have to admit though that what really got us even more excited (bibs can be very exciting mommies) was the hip patterns and vintage look to some of the fabrics. We went with the Retro Rockets and the sushi pattern. Both patterns work for boys and girls…perfect for a family dinner out or for keeping that little drooler’s clothes dry during her playdate. Best part is that they can be tossed in the washer and dryer, so spaghetti stains always come out. Funkie Baby has been worn by some very stylish celeb babies and featured in just about every parent magazine we read. Check out their classy style and just try and resist their modern take on this baby essentially. We think you’ll be ohhing and ahhhing over all their baby creations too.
Contest Time! Tell us your three favorite patterns and you may just win a bib & go mat of your own! Email us at email@example.com by Sept,25th,2009 by midnight.
As any busy mommy on the go will tell you, a diaper bag can make or break your day. Parents need a bag that’s comfy to carry, has heaps of room and looks fabulously modern. If you feel the same way we do then you’ll want an Alpha Sherpa Bag from the very popular and well respected (and parent run company) Baby Sherpa. We wanted a bag that could handle enough gear for two toddlers and have a modern urban look…we found it with our fabulous Alpha. Rugged, tough as nails and so comfy to carry, we must say we are smitten. Best part has to be the soft cooler bottom compartment that keeps our tots snacks and lunch chilled while we trek around town and on our weekend family hikes. Also making us very happy is the padded space for our lap top…makes this blogging job easier to take on the road. Love the sharp look and the numerous pockets to store small necessities like our cell phone and keys…and the kind folk at Baby Sherpa even left enough room for us stylish mommies to bring along a thermos full of espresso, our weekly People mag and a fancy lip balm. Finally, a baby bag we can all share.
We saved the best for last mommas….we have one Alpha Sherpa for one super lucky reader. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us the three types of bags that Baby Sherpa makes…we already told you about our favorite. Contest ends September, 25th at midnight. Good Luck!
Gastrokid is our favorite food blog out there…hands down. We go to it for inspiration, and fabulous recipes to cook with the family. It was created by two foodie dads that know a thing or two about enhancing the family diner experience. Hugh Garvey, a features editor at Bon Appetit and Matthew Yeomans, a food and travel writer have written a cookbook that you will be using for years, and most likely will pass on to your own kids. We’ve had their book for a few weeks and we’ve been testing out several recipes…the verdict? A total thumbs up…way up. First off, the book is the perfect size for little hands. Even our 3 year old can easily hold it. Secondly, the photos will make you salivate, or just plain drool. One look at the picture of the pancetta and sage pizza on page 133 and you’ll be inspired to make you own dough in minutes. We also love the message behind the recipe book, which is to enjoy food. The authors want you to find what inspires you, so you’ll be able to show that enthusiasm to your tots. What a fantastic, yet simple and very doable idea. The recipes focus on meals that are well balanced, organic, and local. Excellent recipes for beginner cooks, to top notch chefs. After cooking quite a few meals from the book, we have to say our top three had to be the Curry Up, Shepherd’s Pie and the Fast Fishcakes. Our three year old also cleaned her plate when we all made Gatrokid’s Meet The Meatballs…perfect on sourdough bread with a simple salad. Are you as hungry as we are?
Feeling a little left out and jealous you don’t have this amazing cookbook? Don’t fret…just skip on over to Gastrokid’s website and name three recipes from their web site that you want to make and we’ll enter your name in a draw for a copy of their cookbook. Email us your answer to email@example.com. Contest ends Sept 18th at midnight. Hope you win!
Just a quick note to let all you style driven and comfort loving mommies about this fab event today…go and get some brilliant boots for you and your wee one…all will be jealous.
Now that the cool weather is upon us, it’s time to talk hats, mitts & socks…not very exciting unless you have the latest creations from the hippest hat source around like we do. Our tot’s wee head and tiny hands and feet will be covered up with Zooni’s original and handmade knit wear. Known for their original and scrumptious hats, Zooni has now introduced a new line of comfy socks that feature 3D animals, called Confetti. Fun for the kiddies to wear and they look so sweet on those tiny little feet. Nice and thick and they have those skid free bottoms so no worries about hardwood floor accidents. We paired our new socks that we’ve been excitingly testing out with their best selling and very hip Chunkee Monkee hat and mitt set. It works for boys and girls and makes a memorable and very thoughtful baby shower gift in our snobby opinion. Fashion conscious mommy Katie Holmes and Heidi Klum would have to agree as their A-lister tots are known to wear Zooni hats too. Great minds really do think alike.
