Polarn O Pyret had been busy creating new designs for us style driven mommies. From Sweden and now available in the US, Polarn has tons of hip Euro style ,and we’re a bit addicted to this fresh brand as regular readers of Celeb Baby Clothes know. Must be the bright colors, soft fabrics and brilliant prices. Our tot has their new Holiday Bow Top in After Dark. Love the A-line cut and the deep blue shade. The classic stipes give it a sweet sailor look, perfect for a casual day at the museum with mom or dressed up with a jean skirt and beret for a family brunch date. For all you pregnant mommies out there, Pyret makes a matching maternity top to the child bow shirt…fabulous way to bond with your eldest before the new addition arrives. When searching for a special dress for our little one we were lucky enough to stumble upon the delightful creations at Velvet & Tweed. Timeless dresses and classy outfits are their specialty. Very “Suri Cruise-y”, if you know what we mean. Based out of San Fran, California, Velvet & Tweed’s boys and girls designs are simple, elegant and have just the right about of detailing to make the clothes special, but not over the top. We absolutely love the Liberty Holiday dress (which happens to be on sale now mommies) with it’s lined skirt and bow…perfect for the winter birthday party scene. Our tot will be wearing this gorgeous frock paired with some cream colored tights and shiny black mary janes. What we like most about Velvet’s comfy dress up wear is that it’s made with care and style in mind. From the shiny buttons to the ruffled collars, their winter line is what we want to dress our children in this season. Velvet & Tweed have an online shop for those of us too far away to shop in person…thank goodness.
We have a Christmas treat just for you dear readers : use code cb25 to get 25% off Velvet & Tweed’s fab clothes.
Can we gush about our favorite hair accessory company just one more time? Really, we do test out a lot of hair clippies, and hands down Out To Tea makes the sweetest and most stylish ones around. And they stay put…honestly, they never slip out. We’ve been dressing up out tots golden locks with Out To Tea’s fab Christmas Holiday collection. Love the white dove the most…so stunning and goes with all the winter wardrobe, so no need to pack it away with the Christmas tree next week. Also, if it’s a winter wedding you have on the brain and can’t find just the right accessories for your wee flower girl, then check out Tea’s gorgeous Blush Rose Trio…so pretty. Can’t wait to see what new designs they’ll have for spring!
When in doubt, go with tried and true momma. It’s a fact for everything from clothes to dishes to baby toys…always stick with the classics. We followed that rule when doing Santa’s Christmas shopping this year and went with Fisher Price. Reliable, educational and always a crowd pleaser, Fisher Price has tons of new toys that will keep your tot having fun under the tree and then some. What did we choose? Well since the toddlers can’t read, we’ll tell ya. We decided on the Precious Places Swan Palace and the vintage inspired Little People Play & Go Farm (50th birthday edition). The palace has a banquet hall, treasure chest and has enough pink dazzle to satisfy the little princess of your house. The special edition farm reminds us of our own childhood play time and really looks just like the one we all grew up with…yes we are a little sentimental around here when it comes to toys. Best part about choosing Fisher Price this year? You still have time, because they are carried by most department stores. So skip the uncertainty and pick some toys that you know they’ll love as much as you did.
We were already impressed enough with aden + anais superior baby blankets and sleep sacs…and swoon worthy celeb clientel (Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Garner are well known to be fans) …now they had to go get us even more smitten by adding gorgeous and functional bibs to their creations. Made with their signature muslin, these super absorbent burpy bibs will keep you and your tot’s outfits clean and your baby looking super hip too. You couldn’t help but look fresh while wearing one of aden + anais hip patterns…these bibs are perfect anytime, from playdates to that five star restaurant you’ve been meaning to take Jr too. Love the coverage and the thick soft cotton, and the smart weave pattern makes it dry very fast (nothing worse then a soggy bib). So soft on babies skin and ours too as we snuggle in close for a kiss. Ohh aden…you had us hooked, now we’re addicted.
PS mommies…don’t forget that aden + anais has a super sale to celebrate their new and fab looking website. Enter the promotion code “Celebrate” to save. This offer expires on December 18, 2009.
Well, we think you should plan a fancy schmancy New Years Day brunch. Really. A perfect way to start 2010 if you ask us. Plus, if you’re a tired mommy who can’t stay out to party the night before (9pm is the new midnight momma) this will be a special way to mark the holiday. You can include the whole family in the prep and invite all your mommy & daddy friends, and their wee ones as well. We’ll be making some delish dishes from our new Stonewall Kitchen Breakfast cookbook. Famous for their restaurant and cooking school in Maine, this cookbook is full of yummy recipes and tips for making breakfast work for your busy life. We’ve been testing out some scrumptious recipes, like the whole grain blueberry pancakes, their eggs baked in pancetta cups (to die for!) and the basil and goat cheese muffins (brilliant on a busy day)…all very satisfying, tasty and easy to make. We swear. Stonewall’s recipe book also has a great section of breakfast menus, perfect for whatever you have planned (we hope the husband reads the “breakfast in bed” menu in time for Valentines).
With Christmas around the corner, we have a lot of dressing up to do. We had a look at Shirin NYC’s kids collection and almost passed it by due to the fact that it’s just too fabulous…maybe even for us. Could we pull it off? Would we look hip and stylish in their high end tee’s and dresses like all the urban mommies and daughters who are in the know about Shirin’s unbelievably fresh line? You’ll never know till ya try, so we went for their gorgeous hand silk screened Butterfly In Frame dress from the Holiday collection. So soft and so luxurious. Made with organic supima cotton and cashmere, it’s a true winter treat that’s so necessary ( you need to see the adult version of the dress too, so beautiful). Shirin NYC is well known for their arty, urban tees and their kids line has all the energy and flare of the adult collection with a little whimsy thrown in. Check out the ruffles on their organic pink bird tee…so fancy, and just right for that holiday soirée. Trust us. We know what we’re talking about.
PS…for all you “Mommy & Me” fans (come on…you know you love it) have a peak at Shirin’s brilliant Mommy & Me Couture designs. Edgy and elegant all at once.
The brilliant folks at Babylegs have really outdone themselves. Did you know that they now design really snazzy socks and tights? We were so excited when our package arrived from Babylegs…really, super, extra excited. Love their new footless tights. Perfect when paired with your tot’s Holiday dress, or a sweet jean skirt and tall boots. The patterns are kid friendly and also appeal to style conscious mommas…and they are currently on sale. Fabulous! Babyleg’s new sock collection also has us suitably impressed. Fresh shades like celery green, chocolate browns and amethyst meet hip argyle patterns and always in style stripes. No worries about slipping moms, as these socks are complete with grippers. Whew! When you’re checking out the new tights and socks, be sure to peruse their fab selection of holiday leg warmers. Love the “Santa’s Helper” and powder blue “Flurry” most…so festive and modern.
Looking for a deal? Who isn’t these days? Visit babylegs for a but 1 get 1 free deal on select pairs of their Baby Legs. Happy shopping mammas!
Swedish favorite and international super star in the kid’s fashion world, Shampoodle is back with a stellar winter collection. We’ve been fans of Shampoodle since their debut and we think this time they’ve outdone themselves. This particular collection is inspired by all things Rock-n-Roll. That “rolled out of bed ,but don’t I look cool” look. You’ll find oversized eyelet baseball tees, comfy track suits with Shampoodle’s signature extra long ribbing on the arms and legs (so you’re tot gets years of wear) and painfully hip organic slim fit velor pants. Your toddlers will be ready for their drum solo and dressed the part. What did we feel we had to get for our babe’s winter wardrobe? The organic Rolling Stone Tights in black and the Ziggy Sweater. Love the buttons on the tights and the ribbon detailing on the sweater. Comfy and stylish…what more do you want momma?
