Happy Birthday Sophie!
When you’re turning 50, you deserve a big party…and that’s just what Petit Tresor did in honor of Sophie The Giraffe. Wish we could have made it to West Hollywood to see celeb guests such as Ali Landry and daughter Estela and Cortney Mazza with daughter Gia (daddy is Mario Lopez). Both brought toys to donate to Baby Buggy, snacked on Sweet E’s cupcakes (yum), made their own custom Silly Bandz packs, and took photos for flip books made by A Little Scene. The grown ups even sipped champagne from Nicolas Feuillatte …oh la la. Sounds very posh and quite fancy. Just as it should be when you are celebrating the birthday of France’s favorite baby toy. Keep up the good work Soph…you’ve kept thousands of teething babies content and thousands of mommies sane.

It’s getting cold and nippy out there mommy…time to get the warm blankets out and cuddle up. What baby blankets are we super sussed about this season? The fabulous designs and creations from Big Fat Hen, a family run company that makes gorgeous baby blankets, and organic sleep sacks. We have their unbelievable soft blanket in Lily’s Flowers…so pretty, and just the perfect size for our stroller and car seat. We also think it makes a brilliant play mat for when baby is having a bit of tummy time, as they can gaze at the bright patterns or feel and rub the soft fabric on the underside. Very functional. One Serious Diaper Bag
As any busy mommy on the go will tell you, a diaper bag can make or break your day. Parents need a bag that’s comfy to carry, has heaps of room and looks fabulously modern. If you feel the same way we do then you’ll want an Alpha Sherpa Bag from the very popular and well respected (and parent run company) Baby Sherpa. We wanted a bag that could handle enough gear for two toddlers and have a modern urban look…we found it with our fabulous Alpha. Rugged, tough as nails and so comfy to carry, we must say we are smitten. Best part has to be the soft cooler bottom compartment that keeps our tots snacks and lunch chilled while we trek around town and on our weekend family hikes. Also making us very happy is the padded space for our lap top…makes this blogging job easier to take on the road. Shopping online for childrens clothing is just about the smartest mommy tip we can hand along to you. It’s fast, easy, and very satisfying. There’s no temper tantrums to deal with (at least till the visa bill comes…)…you don’t have to spend a sunny day at the dreaded mall and you can do it in the comfort of your home, snuggled up on the couch sipping a yummy coffee (or needed glass of vino). One of our favorite places to shop is Little Milk Junkie. They carry the creme de la creme of kids clothes and the service is divine. Our latest purchase? The Navy & White Striped Dress from Petit Bateau. It’s a true classic, easy to wash and wear and looks fabulous paired with dark denim capris or alone with sun kissed bare feet. Being a baby gear expert has taught us to never settle for looks alone…however tempting. Darling Droolers is one of our favorite mommy owned companies that makes gorgeous baby gear that really does the job. They make bibs, change mats, burp clothes and blankets that feel as luxurious as they look. We have their reversible bibs with the velcro closure. Super absorbent and perfect for wearing to that swanky little cafe with mommy. Thank goodness they wash well, cause we are a bit addicted to how fabulous they are….should have ordered more. Sling Snob
We are utterly addicted to finding the perfect baby sling. You could say we’re obsessed. We have tried out more slings than anyone ought to be allowed to and yes…we are very picky. We stumbled upon Serena & Lily’s Market Baby Sling when we saw pics of Nicole Kidman strolling through London with baby Sunday Rose wrapped up in their luxurious creation. We found a fabulous design company called Whistle & Wink that keeps both the toddler and I happy when it comes to decorating her room. We went with their Toile China Doll theme and simply love it. The quality is top of the line, the pattern is classy and adds a retro Asian flare to her room. We especially love the hand stitched pink Nightingale Pillow. It’s absolutely gorgeous and brings the whole room together. Pillows make a great starter piece when you’re trying to decide how to decorate your tot’s room. Such A Little Spitfire
We have heard such fabulous things about Maclaren strollers. We see them everywhere we go, and wanted to know what all the fuss was about. What makes them so popular? On a recent trip to NYC all the stylish mommies we ran into were pushing their tots along Madison in a Maclaren buggy. We were lucky enough to test out their limited edition Spitfire stroller, designed in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Spitfire Aircraft ourselves. With only a certain amount in production, we felt quite special strolling along to the local cafe in our snazzy new wheels. Decked out in true Spitfire green and wearing a bullseye on the hood, this stroller is class and style all rolled into one. Love the reversible liner with camouflage for the boys on one side and pink and green plaid for the ladies on the other. It comes with the best reinforced rain cover we’ve ever had (tried it out on the rainiest day ever and not a drop fell on our sleeping tot). It has a quick umbrella fold that makes it very appealing for shopping trips and travel, but it also rides sturdy enough for long walks with the family thanks to the tough aluminum frame. Maclaren is a celebrity household name, with hip stars like Michelle Williams, Cate Blanchett and Maggie Gyllenhaal all owning one themselves.
