Fall Nessesity:Blundstone For Kids

August 27th, 2008 Comments(0)

It’s that time of year again…the air has that familiar chill at night. Time to pack up your swimmers and sandals and pull out the warmer wardrobe. Don’t despair momma…the cool weather is just the perfect excuse you need to get some smashing boots for your tot. Our choice this fall? Blundstone. This Aussie cult fave has such a good reputation, and now they make boots for children too. Their kids line is called Blunnies and they are simply fabulous. Totally durable, sturdy and tough enough to handle just about anything your toddler does…a necessity for a truly stylish Fall wardrobe. We went for the rich chocolate brown pair, safe and classic, but the unexpected fushia pair is calling our name too. They go with just about anything, and slip on so easy…our wee one loves that she can put them on all by herself. Check out this absolute must have at www.blundstone.com and at www.blundstone.ca for our Canadian friends.

Best Dressed Mommy

maternity black dress

Something we’ve learned over the years is that when you are pregnant you need to maintain your sense of style. Looking fabulous and put together will get you through the most challenging moments of pregnancy. The right maternity outfit can make blemishes, weight gain and swollen feet seem minor and unimportant (for a few hours anyway). We had the pleasure of trying out the stylish designs at Olian Maternity. Their gorgeous lines and cuts just hug you in all the right places…this is no time to hide momma, show off that beautiful bump. Classy shirts, timeless dresses and fabulous sleepwear. Our favorite piece has to be their Maternity & Nursing Lounge Set. We love outfits that help you get through that awkward time after you have a baby…you need comfort, but want to look good. This is no time for old sweats and wrinkled tees. Bringing it up a notch will make 4am feedings and nap time more glamorous. We found Olian’s PJ’s comfy and definitely stylish enough to greet all those guests that stop by to see you and the baby (why does the doorbell ring just as you’re about to feed the baby? ). Perfect for breastfeeding and it comes with a chic little robe and a sweet baby sleeping gown. You’ll be the hippest mommy on the maternity ward. Get some new mommy style at www.olianmaternity.com

Posh & Comfy Baby Quilt

August 14th, 2008 Comments(0)

For those of us who can’t sew to save our lives, and don’t have a grammy to do the stitching, homemade blankets are difficult to come by . One look at the luxurious hand made quilts and you’ll start gushing along with us. We’ve been on the hunt for just the right quilt for a long long time, once we found Milklush our search was over. We wanted the best and most stylish quilt for our tot, as all mommies do. These hand made Canadian quilts (Canadians know a thing or two about how to keep warm and cozy) come in beautiful patterns, all unique and original. Being a complete blanket snob, the fact that no two are alike makes us quite pleased. The back is a deep chocolate minky (super soft), and the center is filled with organic cotton batting. It has fabric tabs that can hook onto your stroller so you don’t drop it in a puddle (but if you do…it washes really easy on gentle). These quilts would be a hit at the next baby shower you attend this Fall, or a fabulous Christmas gift for the wee one. It has a glamorous yet homey feel to it, which we think makes it just perfect. Next on our list? We have to try their waterproof play mats. Wrap your tot up in Milklush at www.milklush.com

Back To School In Style

August 10th, 2008 Comments(1)

Yes, yes, we know we said we were tired of cute little animal shirts…however we may have been too hasty in our dissing. Our little tot loves tees with animals that go moo and oink, so we had to find one we could both agree on. We came across Colette Kids while searching for back to school clothes, and must say that we just love their hand silk screened shirts. Colette’s tees and onesies have cool geometric interpretations of animals…not too cutesie and very original. The shades and graphics are modern and unisex, and they even offer organic onesies. Our favorite? Charlotte The Pig won over our household…but Rufus The Dog is a close second. All that matters is that our wee tot loves her piggy tee and that mommy thinks it’s hip too. Colette Kids has a brilliant sale on now (hurrah!). Find your favorite animal at www.colettekids.com

I’m A Smart Girl

August 08th, 2008 Comments(0)

Our tot’s favorite thing to say these days is “I’m a smart girl!”, and we couldn’t agree with her more…and what smart girl doesn’t like to wear clothes with other smart girls on it? We are so over the “Wonderwoman retro t-shirt thing”, and thrilled to find a company making original shirts with characters that portray girls in a strong, clever and humorous way. Gohgirl makes tees, onesies and paper goods that sport modern secret agents from all over the globe. So fresh and funky and way cooler that wearing a Dora or Cinderella tee. Our favorite? Siena, the secret agent from Italy …she sports some stylish glasses and looks very smart indeed. Each shirt comes with a little blurb of your agents secret powers…so funny! Who do we think would love these tees? Why the Joilie-Pitt girls of course. Shiloh and Z would rock these tees and look hip doing so. Have a sneak peek at Gohgirl’s snazzy creations at www.gohgirl.com Watch out boys…here come some smart girls!

Oh, and P.S…they are having a major sale right now.

Fit For A Queen

August 07th, 2008 Comments(0)

What makes our day? Finding gorgeous lounge clothes that make being a mommy and breastfeeding a little more comfortable and glamorous. If ya look good, you feel better…it’s a simple fact. We just heard about Queen Bee, a brilliant Aussie online boutique that has a really pretty nursing cami that we just needed to own. When you are feeding your new baby every couple of hours you need to wear clothes that provide easy access, and this classy and feminine cami does just that. Wearing attractive clothes after having a baby makes you feel special and pretty which is just what you need when you’re super tired and can’t even remember the last time you shaved your legs. We like wearing ours with black flared yoga pants, or dark capris jeans if we’re meeting the mommies for lattes. Throw a light cashmere shrug over it to dress it up a little. Love how easy the clasps open for feedings and the generous length provides extra coverage while we work off the pregnancy pounds (and hides the fact that we still eat ice cream every night). Toss that baggy tee out, you deserve better momma! See all that Queen Bee has to offer at www.queenbee.com.au

Look Smart & Original

August 06th, 2008 Comments(0)

We’re tired of turtles and various sea creatures adorning our tots tees.  Call us high maintenance (we are), but is a little creativity in the kids tee shirt world too much to ask?  So thrilled we discovered Alpha Buddies, a brilliant company that makes tees with the “A is for Apple” theme, but with an intelligent twist.  They focus on themes like poetry, classical music, history and sports.  All subjects we hope that inspire our little learners.  We thought the “S is For Shakespeare” was spot on and scooped it up for our little chatterbox.  Got a future piano player in the house?  Check out the “M is for Mozart” onesie.  Featured in the highly respected children’s apparel mag, Earnshaw’s, it’s only a matter of time before the Jolie-Pitt twins are sporting Alpha Buddies designs on their way to the Louvre with mommy.

*Want some Alpha Buddies of your very own?  Go to www.alpha-buddies.com and use the coupon code CBC and you’ll get 20% off, how fabulous!

*CONTEST:  Tell us where (what US state) Alpha Buddies is based and we have a tee for you.  Email the answer to celebritybabyclothescontest@gmail.com by midnight Aug, 8,2008.  Random draw for the winner!

Who Doesn’t Love Robeez?

August 06th, 2008 Comments(0)

Love it when a well known and highly respected company keeps coming out with new and fabulous designs. Mommies want function, style and reliability…if you have all those things, you have yourself a winner. Have you had a peek at Robeez new Fall line? After much debate (we wanted them all) we picked up a pair of Mary Janes Trendz in classic black. The ballet style straps are so hip and current, and they go with all our toddler’s outfits. We consider them a wardrobe staple, as you can’t go wrong with black Mary Janes, can you? Robeez has great sporty shoes this season too, like the pink Z Strap. They go perfect with a fresh white tee and worn in jeans. With all the brilliant colors and new designs, it’s nearly impossible to narrow it down. The best part? They slip on and wash well and easy…a mommy’s dream. Our tot’s shoes are slowly taking over the closet…as well it should. Have a look at the new Robeez creations at www.robeez.com…just make some room in your closet.
