Chic For Less

You don’t always have to spend a bundle on your little bundle.  It’s true.  You can totally get baby gear that’s hip, cool and stylish and have change left over for a fancy brunch at that little French Bistro.  We learned this little life lesson when we stumbled upon the swanky diaper bags by Chelsea & Main at Walmart.  Yes…we said Walmart mommy.  Chelsea & Main is sold exclusively there, which really makes it easy to get all your grocery shopping done and get a fab baby bag all at once.  We went for the Jet Setter Diaper Tote in chocolate brown and pink.  Love the polka dot change pad and the over the shoulder design.  It has tons of room for mommy and baby, and even enough room for some daddy stuff too.  Sometimes it’s wise to spend a little less, especially if you can find something that’s functional and looks fantastic.  We plan on using Chelsea & Main’s bags as a clever gift bag for the next baby shower we go to…just going to fill it to the top with some baby essentials and mom will be all set for that impending delivery day (as ready as you can be anyway).  Very “Martha Stewart” of us if we do say so ourselves.

One Serious Diaper Bag

As any busy mommy on the go will tell you, a diaper bag can make or break your day.  Parents need a bag that’s comfy to carry, has heaps of room and looks fabulously modern.  If you feel the same way we do then you’ll want an Alpha Sherpa Bag from the very popular and well respected (and parent run company) Baby Sherpa.  We wanted a bag that could handle enough gear for two toddlers and have a modern urban look…we found it with our fabulous Alpha.  Rugged, tough as nails and so comfy to carry, we must say we are smitten.  Best part has to be the soft cooler bottom compartment that keeps our tots snacks and lunch chilled while we trek around town and on our weekend family hikes.  Also making us very happy is the padded space for our lap top…makes this blogging job easier to take on the road.   Love the sharp look and the numerous pockets to store small necessities like our cell phone and keys…and the kind folk at Baby Sherpa even left enough room for us stylish mommies to bring along a thermos full of espresso, our weekly People mag and a fancy lip balm.  Finally, a baby bag we can all share.

We saved the best for last mommas….we have one Alpha Sherpa for one super lucky reader.  Email us at and tell us the three types of bags that Baby Sherpa makes…we already told you about our favorite.  Contest ends  September, 25th at midnight.  Good Luck!

Hip Diaper Bag

BRAD PITT made it stylish for dads to carry diaper bags by toting his DIAPER DUDE around the world with his gorgeous family.  We love the hip patterns and fresh designs those Dude’s keep coming up with.  Now that Fall is slowly sneaking up on us, it’s time to think about changing up your diaper bag.  When seasons change, we switch up our clothes, so why would baby’s tote be any different?  Fall makes us think of plaid, so we are loving DIAPER DUDE’S PLAID BAG.  So retro, and it works with all of dad’s (and your) Autumn clothes.  Tons of space for all of babe’s and Dad’s gear, and we can’t get over how comfy the extra wide strap is.  A diaper bag that’s cool enough for dad and fabulous enough for mom.  Bravo!  Get your plaid fix at

COURTENEY COX and BRITNEY SPEARS have found the most fabulous and chic diaper bag there is.  SKIP HOP makes functional and stylish diaper bags that can be used by mom or dad.  The bags are so great that I’ll be using mine when buba heads off to collage….I’ll just be storing US WEEKLY and my Kiel’s lip balm where bottles and diapers used to go.  Based in New York and started by a husband and wife, SKIP HOP has grown into a cult fave of the rich and fabulous.  But who’s kidding who?  We know who really carries these bags full of gear for all these celeb babes…the nanny.  Well I carry my own and I love it.  You will too. baby bags celebrityGWYNETH PALTROW and fellow celeb mom HEIDI KLUM love their baby bags according to US WEEKLY.  These sleeping sacks are great for keeping baby warm and safe through the night. A cross between a blanket and a sleeping bag, and they come in a ton of styles and colors.  They range in price from about $30 to $125, so you can have everyday ones and special occasion bags.  I’m sure all the stars are going for the expensive and fancy bags but the cotton basic is just perfect…cause you know who is just going to spit up and wee on it anyway.  SOURCE: US WEEKLY
